Quantitative Color Blind Tests or Arrangement Tests are used to provide a detailed analysis of color blindness and/or a person’s ability to accurately perceive colors. These color blind tests consists of a certain number of colored discs or plates which have to be arranged in the correct color order. One of the most common color arrangement tests is the Lanthony Desaturated D-15 Color Vision Test.
As the name signifies it contains 15 color plates or discs, which need to be arranged in the correct color coded order. The person being tested must arrange the discs within the tray to create a continuum of gradually changing hue. Similar to the Farnsworth D-15, the Lanthony desaturated D-15 colored plates or discs are less saturated. This makes the Lanthony Desaturated Test more difficult, and can detect more subtle color vision deficiencies. For accurate results, the Lanthony Desaturated D-15 Color Vision Test should be administered in a viewing booth that simulates natural light as closely as possible.
