How to Pass a Color Blind Test
The ColorCorrection System™ uses custom-designed color corrective contact lenses and glasses to guarantee passing four color vision tests — the Ishihara Color Plate Test, the Rabin Cone Contrast Test (RCCT), the Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test (WCCVT), and the Farnsworth D-15 Color Vision Test. Since 1975, we have helped thousands of people from around the world pass their color vision test. Every patient since 1999 has successfully passed their color blind test.
Which Color Vision Tests Can We Guarantee You Will Pass?
The ColorCorrection System™ provides guaranteed results on four color vision tests:
- Ishihara Color Plate Test — The most widely used color vision test in the world and the international gold standard for color blindness screening. Required by employers and licensing boards in law enforcement, military, aviation, railroad, maritime, and many other industries. 100% success rate since 1999.
- Rabin Cone Contrast Test (RCCT) — A computerized cone contrast sensitivity test that measures the sensitivity of each individual cone type (red, green, and blue) separately, testing each eye independently. One of only three color vision tests accepted by the FAA.
- Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test (WCCVT) — A computerized pseudoisochromatic plate (PIP) color vision test approved by the FAA and widely used by the U.S. Military. Self-scoring software determines pass or fail automatically.
- Farnsworth D-15 Color Vision Test — A color arrangement test used in aviation, maritime, railroad, and other industries to assess the type and severity of color vision deficiency.
How Does the ColorCorrection System™ Work?
The ColorCorrection System™ designs customized color corrective lenses at the exact wavelength of light needed for each individual patient’s color vision correction. The process starts with a complete comprehensive eye exam, a full color vision evaluation, over 25 different color vision tests, and additional proprietary testing to determine the precise design needed for each patient.
Once all testing and data are collected, Dr. Azman is able to design and prescribe the custom color corrective lenses. Our primary treatment option is color blind contact lenses — conventional soft lenses designed at the exact wavelength of light, very discreet and generally not noticeable to others, available the same day as your appointment. Color blind glasses are also available for patients who prefer or require them.
Who Needs to Pass a Color Blind Test?
Many careers require passing a color vision test. Some of these career paths include law enforcement officers, railroad engineers, firefighters, military personnel, Coast Guard officers, pilots, and many more. It is important to understand that not all employers, agencies, or companies allow the use of color vision lenses — we are not familiar with the specific rules and policies of every employer or licensing board, so we strongly recommend checking directly with your employer or licensing authority before scheduling your appointment. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for example, does not permit the use of color corrective lenses for FAA aviation medical certification purposes.
Many patients also wear the lenses simply to improve and enhance their color vision for their job or everyday life, without a test requirement.

Can I really pass a color blind test if I am color blind?
Yes. The ColorCorrection System™ guarantees the ability to pass a color vision test. Using custom-designed color corrective contact lenses or glasses, the system corrects the exact wavelengths of light your eyes need to achieve a passing result. Every patient since 1999 has successfully passed the Ishihara Color Plate Test — the international gold standard for color vision testing — and the system also guarantees passing the Rabin Cone Contrast Test (RCCT), Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test (WCCVT), and Farnsworth D-15 Color Vision Test. The entire process is completed in a single all-day appointment at our office in Baltimore, Maryland.
Which color blind tests does the ColorCorrection System™ guarantee I will pass?
The ColorCorrection System™ guarantees passing four color vision tests: the Ishihara Color Plate Test, the Rabin Cone Contrast Test (RCCT), the Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test (WCCVT), and the Farnsworth D-15 Color Vision Test. These are the most widely required color vision tests used by employers and licensing boards in law enforcement, military, railroad, maritime, and other industries. Dr. Azman has maintained a 100% success rate on the Ishihara Color Plate Test since 1999.
How long does it take — is it really just one appointment?
Yes — the entire ColorCorrection System™ process is completed in a single all-day appointment. During this visit, patients undergo a complete and comprehensive eye exam, a full color vision examination and evaluation, and over 25 different color vision tests. Using the results of this extensive evaluation, Dr. Azman determines the exact wavelength of light needed to design and prescribe each patient’s custom color corrective lenses. Contact lenses are available the same day. Glasses require approximately 4 to 6 weeks to fabricate. No follow-up appointment is required — replacement lenses can be reordered by phone or email.
Will my employer allow me to use color corrective lenses for my color vision test?
This is an important question and the answer varies by employer, agency, and industry. Some employers and licensing boards permit the use of color corrective lenses when taking a required color vision test, while others do not. We are not familiar with the specific rules and policies of every employer, agency, or licensing board, so we strongly recommend checking directly with your employer or licensing authority before scheduling your appointment. How is Colormax different from EnChroma or other color blind glasses?
The ColorCorrection System™ is a medically supervised, individually customized clinical process. Each patient undergoes a complete comprehensive eye exam, a full color vision evaluation, and over 25 different color vision tests. Using these results, Dr. Azman determines the exact wavelength of light needed to design and prescribe custom color corrective lenses — available as contact lenses or glasses — that are guaranteed to pass the Ishihara Color Plate Test, Rabin Cone Contrast Test (RCCT), Waggoner Computerized Color Vision Test (WCCVT), and Farnsworth D-15 Color Vision Test, as well as provide enhanced color vision for everyday life. The entire process is completed in a single all-day appointment.
Our results are based on objective color vision testing — not subjective perception. When a patient passes a color vision test using our custom lenses, that is a measurable, verifiable outcome.
Other products such as EnChroma are generic consumer glasses — they do not offer contact lenses, they are not customized to each patient’s individual color vision deficiency, and they do not guarantee passing a color vision test. Their results are based on subjective color perception, which varies from person to person and cannot be verified by a standardized color vision test.
